Cooking Well with Diabetes is a cooking school designed to help people with diabetes and anyone that prepares food for them. The goal of the program is to help those living with diabetes, family members, or those just wanting to learn, how to make changes to the foods we eat and how they are prepared. The four-lesson series examines carbohydrates, meal planning, and reducing fat and sodium while still maintaining flavorful dishes.
The series will be delivered in four monthly classes beginning Tuesday November 9, 2021, through February 8, 2022. Participants may choose to sign up for the morning or evening class. The morning sessions are scheduled from 10:00-11:30am, while the evening sessions are scheduled 5:30-7:00pm. All classes are held at the Wise County Extension Office. The classes will be packed with researched based information on management of type 2 diabetes and delicious diabetes friendly recipes.

Following instruction, participants will get hands-on experience cooking a variety of healthy dishes and learn how to incorporate them into their meal plans.
Cost per person for the entire series is $25 which covers the cost of class materials, recipes, and a tasting of foods prepared. Space is limited. You may register by contacting the Extension office at (940) 627-3341.
